No Stay In Northern Ireland Is Complete Without An Ulster Fry

When visiting Northern Ireland there are many interesting sites to visit lots of history to see, We have some very famous people including the legendary Van Morrison, The footballer George Best and will be marking 100 years of the tragic sinking of the Titanic. Of which my great grandfather who worked in Harland and Wolff worked on the building of the flagship shipping project of it’s time. Many of the local coffee shops hotels and restaurants serve an Ulster Fry.

As well as my great grandfather working in Harland and Wolff on the building of the Titanic my grandfather also worked as a foreman in Harland and Wolff, He was one of the first people on the H.M.S Canberra which he was on board for the launch. My grandpa was a also great cook and he used to make the best ulster fries I had tasted. An Ulster Fry comprises of fried eggs potatoe bread, soda bread, fried tomatoes, bacon, sausages and sometimes he would add some mushrooms, wheaten bread, fried pancakes or just plain fried bread, Ok lets just say it is not one of the world’s healthiest foods,

It may be one of the tastiest foods especially early on a cold damp windy Northern Ireland winter morning an ulster fry and cup of hot tea are a great and very tasty start to your day, So if you really want to experience the true Northern Ireland lifestyle for your visit make sure you order an Ulster Fry before you leave.
